I Say Bye-Bye to 2007

Tonight, Mom and Dad told me that this was the very last day in 2007!

We went to dinner with my friend Haley to celebrate.

My friends Cindi and Matt also came to dinner with us!

After a very good dinner,
we came home and talked about our New Year's Resolutions.

That's so funny though
because I don't even have any bad habits at all!

Happy New Year, everyone!
Mom told me that we had a terrific 2007 and
that 2008 will be even better!

I Order Off of The Menu

Today we went to lunch with Memaw and Grandad.
I am getting so big that I got my own menu and my own crayons!

After I perused the menu,
I circled a couple of meals that I would like to have
and showed it to Mom.

Hmmm... Chicken and cheese quesadillas...

I like eating off the menu,
but nothing beats a nice cold cup of milk!

I Get My Own Place

I decided that since I was a whole year old,

it was time I had my own place.
Dad helped me assemble my new fort...

Look at all these poles!
I can't wait to see my fort all put together!

WOW!!!
This is super cool!!!

Dad put some of my toys in there
and I went in to play and play.

Want to come in here and play too??

I sure do like having my own place,
but I still like to visit Mom and Dad very often!

I Learn That Age Has Its Privileges

I'm getting to be so big now and plus since I turned one year old,
I've been doing so much more stuff than I was just a baby!

Look at how I can slam dunk this ball!
I sure do let that ball know that I am the boss of it!

And would you believe that Dad got me my very own basketball
just like his for Christmas??
I'll be dunking this ball very soon too!

Dad's shoes are still too big for me to fit into just now,
but at the rate I'm growing, I know I'll be wearing them soon!

Plus, I get to have yogurt for breakfast now!

Yogurt is very NUM and
this is the most fun I've had eating with a spoon since my birthday cake!!!

No more rice cereal for this fellow!
It's big guy food for me!

I Have a Very Merry Christmas

This morning Mom and Dad loaded me up in the car
and took me to Memaw and Grandad's house before I even got
out of my pajamas!

They told me I had presents to open with Cousin James!

Cousin James was very helpful and
passed out some of the presents.

I think he really liked the boxing set we got for him!
Give 'em a left hook, Cousin James!

I spent most of the morning on my new phone,
calling all my friends in Babyland to wish them a Merry Christmas.

And guess what else was under the tree for me??

It was a airplane!

Hmmm...
This looks like it could be Riley-powered....


But it goes so much faster when it's Daddy-powered!

And look at this puppy my Great Aunt B
left under the tree for me yesterday!

I had lots of fun hanging out with my Aunt Katie too!
Did you also see that balloon way up in the air?
That was from my party, but it got away...

After we all opened our presents,
Grandad got out the Pepperming Pig and took the first whack at it!

My Uncle Ron whacked at that pig,
and Cousin James took a big hammer and hit that pig, too!

After we all hit that pig and smashed it to bits,
Memaw passed it out and it was NUM!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve at Grandma Joyce's

Today after I turned one,
I went to Grandma Joyce's house for Christmas Eve.
Cousin Gus was there too!

We had some beverages and then played and played!

There was this hippo there that we got to ride all over the place!


There were Merry Christmas presents there for me to open, too!

And Aunt Steph even let me borrow Cousin Gus's brand new basketball
so I could shoot some hoops in this bag!

It's Fun to Be One!

Did you know that at 5:18 this very evening one whole year ago,
I was born!!!
Happy birthday to me!

I Have a Very Happy Birthday Party

Happy very first birthday to me!!!!

Mom and Dad threw me a very happy birthday party and
everyone was there!
Cousin Gus came to play...

Aunt Elece was there...

And Aunt Janet came too!

I also made a new friend.
Her name is Haley.
I liked her very much!!

I even got lots of happy birthday presents!
Look at this cool jacket that Aunt Janet got me.
It says "Captain Riley"!
Yep, that's me!!

Grandma Joyce came to wish me a happy birthday too.

My friend Cindi was there too.
Did you know that every once in a while I caught her
trying to play with all my toys?!

I was very glad to see my friend Keiran too!
I always have a very good time with her!

Did you see this very big tractor Memaw and Grandad got for me to ride on?
It even has a key and everything!!
It's supposed to be Riley-powered, but it goes much faster when it's DAD-powered!!

I think Memaw has her hands very full with me AND cousin Gus!

After we played and played with all my toys,
Mom brought me this very special cake just for me!

Cousins Gus and James got to have some cake too.

I think Cousin Gus had very much fun with his cake like I did!

I was enjoying my cake so much,
I think Uncle Steve wanted to have some too!

Even though Mom let me smash that cake all to bits,
I still like eating with a spoon better.

Well, a spoon and both of my hands...

After I smushed that cake all over everything,
it was time for Riley soup in the sink to get washed off!

Later on when all my party guests had gone home,
we wrote "Merry Christmas" on my happy birthday balloons...

and set them free into the atmosphere so we
could tell the whole world Merry Christmas!

There they go....!!!

Whew!

What an exciting day!
Time to relax with Grandad and unwind!
