Backyard Adventures

On Sunday the whole big family all
went over to Aunt E's and Uncle Steve's
for some bubbles and to play with their BARK-BARK's.

Cousin Gus and I also played a round of golf.
I'm sure next time we'll have our own golf cart to use.

I even tried to get one of the BARK-BARK's to play with me....

But he had other things to do.

But that was okay.
It was time to join Cousin Gus and Cousin McKena on the slide.

We all took turns zooming down very fast!

We also had some food that was very NUM!
And do you know that I am so good at sharing
I even shared my ice with the BARK-BARK's?
I think they appreciated the cold ice on the very warm day!

I even got to feed Aunt E's fish!

Thank you for the very good time!
Boo-boo and I sure did enjoy it!

I Take Time to Stop and Smell the Flowers

I sure do love smelling flowers!

Especially these pretty orange ones...

They don't smell quite as good when they lose their petals,
but that's okay.

It's just nice to be able to take time from my busy schedule
and smell the flowers...
even if I do get stuff all over my nose after I smell them!

We All Have a Very Good Weekend

Can you believe that even though it was supposed to be Dad's weekend,
that I got stuff too!?
Look at this cool Diego outfit that Memaw gave to me
just for being me!
Thanks Memaw!!

Dad also got some stuff from Grandad,
but I told them that I would hold it for him.
And don't you know that since I was having such a good time,
I decided it was time to get out my lampshade again!?

Thank you for all the gifts,
and for coming to see me!!

And after Memaw and Grandad came to see me,
we went to see them right back!

I had to take Grandad his very special gifts that I picked out.
I'm sure his favorite was this fly swatter that says "GOTCHA!!"

And I couldn't think of a better way to end the very good weekend
than to relax on the back porch with a popsicle...

and a game of hide and seek!

I'm very glad I could help Dad and Grandad have a
very happy Father's Day Weekend!

I Go See My Animal Friends

On Saturday, Mom told me that it was Father's Day Weekend
and that it was going to be a party!

I was very excited and grabbed my lampshade right away!

After I had my lampshade on my head just right,
I wanted to make sure Mom took my picture!
I ran up to her and said "CHEESE!"

But when Mom told me to save my energy
because we were going to the zoo,
I decided to take a water break and catch my breath.

Did you know that they had baby monkeys at the zoo!
I kept showing Dad how they bop their heads...

We also saw the penguins.
I learned that penguins are kind of stinky.

Look at this big fish!
Dad said that he and I would be catching
fish twice that size very soon!

And here are Mom and I with this real live statue of a rhino!
They have one tail, four feet and twelve toes!!!

I also said Hi to Baby Scotty.
I may be three months older than he is,
but that baby elephant is very much bigger than me!
I sure do like elephants!

At the end of our Zoo Safari,
I could see Dad was getting pretty tired
so I told him I would push Booboo all the way to the car.
I'm such a good helper!!!

Then it was off to my favorite restaurant for chips and salsa!
NUM!

Happy Father's Day, Dad!!!!

Thank you for the laughter,
For the good times that we share,
Thanks for always listening,
For trying to be fair.

Thank you for your comfort,
When things are going bad,
Thank you for the shoulder,
To cry on when I'm sad.

This poem is a reminder that
All my life through,
I'll be thanking Heaven
For a Special Dad like you.

Super Riley

Look!
Running around the house faster than a speeding bullet!
It's Super Riley!!

I love it when Mom lets me wear my old baby towels on
my head like a cape!

Aren't I the cutest Super Hero you ever did see??

But even Super Heroes need a play break every once in a while!

Boo-Boo Has an Owie

On Tuesday, Boo-Boo had to go to the doctor's and
she got FOUR OWIES!!!
There's one right there where that bandage is....
Mom said I had to be very nice to Boo-Boo after her hard day.

So I was! I kept her company and even let her wear my old puppy dog pj's.
I sure do love Boo-Boo and was very upset that she had owies.

Go Baby Go!

After a nap, Dad told me I had to get all spiffied up
so we could go see a real live horse race!
I fixed my hair with one of Booboo's barrettes and I was ready to go!

When we got to the track,
I helped Dad make our first bets.

After we placed our bets,
I ran outside so I could root for our horse,
but I found that my view was pretty obstructed.

But wouldn't you know that Dad saved the day
and I had a better view than anybody!

I yelled GO as soon as the race started and
watched those horses run very fast.

After that race was over,
I didn't even want to go back inside.

I waited by the rail
until I saw the horses come out for the next race!

And I had the best view in the house again!!!

When we had to leave, we walked out to the paddock.
Dad said that one day we would hang out here so I could see the horses closer up.

But you don't get much closer than this!!!
When we got to our car,
we heard the horses and Dad and I ran over to the fence just
in time to see them run by!
GO BABY GO!

Men at Work

I had a very busy day yesterday which started
with some refreshments with Cousin James at Memaw's.

Then she sent us both straight to work!
She brought us some paper and crayons
and commissioned some original artwork from us.

We worked very hard on our masterpieces!

And even when Cousin James was finished with his,
I had to give my artwork just a couple more finishing touches
before it went to the gallery on the refrigerator.

After all that creativity,
it was time for a drink and to relax!
