I Go to the Barber Shop

Today, Dad told me I was going to go to the barber shop
and get my hair cut by a trained professional!

Dad and I sat down on this chair and then the barber lady
wrapped this blanket thing around me.

So... Can I see your resume before we get started?
Where did you go to hair school?
How long have you been cutting baby hair?

Okay... Looks like we're going through with this after all...

Just a little off the sides please...

All done!
How do I look, Dad?

We got all done and Mom said I needed to have another bath
to get all the baby hair off my face and neck.

Lather, rinse, repeat!
(This is the rinse part.)

Okay, Mom, it's cold.
Hurry up with the blow dryer and get some clothes on me!

All clean, all dry and warm, and handsome as ever!

After my haircut and quick bath, it was snack time.

NUM!

TOUCHDOWN!
Puffs and football - it just doesn't get any better than this!

Time to play and play before bedtime.
What a handsome baby man I am with my new haircut.

The Aspiring Artiste

On Thursday, Mom told me we were going to do
some arts and crafts for Thanksgiving.
Okay, I'm ready.
Open this already, please!

I grabbed a crayon and got straight to work on a blank canvas.
Mom told me that there would be scissors and glue and other stuff
that she'd help me with to make our crafts,
but that I could color all I wanted to on all this paper!

So I drew and drew and colored and colored.

Look at all these crayons to choose from!
I went through a couple rough drafts,
but I finally got the hang of it.

Stay tuned to find out what my masterpiece is!
Mom said it's a surprise for Thanksgiving Day!

I Go on a Very Long Ride

On Thursday, Mom started packing lots of bags and
told me we were going on a long trip.
She had even packed my bath seat so I had
to take a bath in the sink before we loaded up in the car.

We drove and drove and before I knew it,
I was in a whole nother state!

And then even another one!!!

But we stopped to sleep in this state and
did you know they had a crib just for me?
It was my first time to sleep anywhere but my crib or at Memaw's house!
But the adventures were just beginning!

We Arrive At Our Destination

We made it!
And for Mom, it was really coming home since she was born in this state!

We finally arrived at our home away from home,
at least for the next couple of days!
I had to do some exploring and check out my new digs.

So I started my exploring and guess who I ran in to?
It was Cousin James!

And then Memaw came too!
We all sat on the porch swing for a while and
got caught up with each other...

I asked Cousin James if I could borrow my Aunt Katie
for a little while since I hadn't seen her in a long time.

I also met my new friend, David.
He owns the Dunn House Bed and Breakfast where we stayed.
He said that I could have anything for breakfast
that I wanted, but Mom said I had to stick to my applesauce and oatmeal.
Next year I'll get to have grits and sausage and toast with dewberry jam
and eggs and all the other yummy stuff he made for everyone else.

Here are Aunt Katie, James, David, Mom and I
on the front porch of the house we stayed at.

We all thought it was a very good place to stay
and thanks to David for all he did while we were there!

My First Nine Holes

After that very long trip,
Dad decided that it was time to do some driving of a different kind.
We went to Shadow Ridge Golf Course to play nine holes.
Dad and I studied the holes on the score card before we started.

Did you know that the golf cart had room
for all of our drinks - even my bottle fit perfectly!

Here I am on the first tee box - a par 5!
It was very far to drive that ball,
so Dad said he would take the first swing.

It sure was a nice golf course with lots of trees and
lots of blue skies!

Since I don't have PGA approved golf clubs yet,
I just drove the golf cart while Dad played.

I also helped him keep score.

Last hole!
Dad and I showed this golf course who's boss!

Can't wait til I get my own clubs next year!

I Learn About My Southern Roots, Y'all

On Saturday, we all loaded up and
met a whole bunch of people at the Hattiesburg Zoo.

I didn't know that my Great-Granny was going to be there!
This was the first time I'd ever met her!

My Great Aunt Debbie was there too!
I'd met her before and was very happy to see her again!

And then I met my cousins that were the kids of my Mom's cousins!
Here I am with Payton, Aidon, my Great Granny and Cousin James.

And here Mom is with her cousins Kim and Kandise
and my Uncle Ron.

And here's my whole big family on Mom's side.
There's Uncle Ron, Aunt Katie and James
with me, Mom, Dad and Memaw and Grandad.

After we took bunches and bunches of pictures,
we all went to the zoo to see the animals.

Well, we wanted to see the animals after a little snack.
I sure do love Puffs.

See that zebra?
I pointed and pointed and talked to that zebra,
but he never came over.

My cousins and I also rode the carousel.
I decided that I really didn't like my horse, though,
and got off that ride.

After the zoo fun,
we headed to my Great Granny's for more family fun.

I sure did enjoy spending time with my cousins!

Plus, I got to meet my Great Aunt Selita!
It sure was a day full of family fun!

There's No Place Like Home

Today when I woke up,
Dad told me that this was the last time in the car seat for a while.
I gave him a big THUMBS UP on that!

We all packed up our things from the hotel room,
and had a very big breakfast where I even got to taste apple juice!
It was very NUM.

After our breakfast we loaded up and drove and drove.
Pretty soon, we saw that we were back in our home state!

But a fellow has to eat a second breakfast after waking up so early.

When we got back in the car,
we saw that we were still very far from home,
but much closer than we were when we started!
I decided it was a good time for a nap and
told Mom and Dad to wake me up when we got there.

Home, sweet home!
We made it back safe and sound!
I was very happy to see my room and the critter again!

What a good first roadtrip!
And thanks to all for all the hospitality.
