My New Activity Center

My New Activity Center
Mom put this together for me and only broke two fingernails!

It has lots of fun things to keep me busy!

Can't talk now, Mom.
I've gotta figure this thing out....

Hmm... and this goes here.... and that goes there...

It's hard work to play and play!
Time for a nap in the big bed!

From the archives

Me, Mom and Daddy when I was only four days old!
Hmm... why don't they have any socks on me?!
Must be the new parent thing... but they're getting better at this by the day!
Taking a snooze on mom that same day.
Look how tiny I was!

My six week portraits

I was nakee butt on Mom for this picture.
She had to change shirts after this!

Easter Fun with Memaw and Grandad

Easter Brunch with Memaw and Grandad

Happy Easter!!!

Love you, Grandad!!

Hangin with Memaw and Grandad...

One of my favorite games is flying on Mom's knees.
Thanks for my Easter Hat, Aunt Debbie!

Happy Easter!!

Mom and Daddy stayed up late and dyed Easter eggs for my 1st Easter Basket.
Can't wait til I can help!

Mom and Daddy get pretty goofy when they don't have any sleep!
They're still dying Easter eggs but took a minute to do a self portrait.

YAY!!
Happy Easter!!
My basket was filled with all sorts of chocolate goodies for Daddy...
hmmm... wait a minute....
this hardly seems fair.....
But I did get a fluffy bunny to play with!

This is the basket my Great Aunt Debbie sent me all the way from the Gulf Coast!

Mom and Memaw thought putting me in my big Easter basket was a better idea than I did.

Family Fun Night

Mom and Daddy and WAIT...
Where am I????

Okay - that's better....
Me, Mom and Daddy at Family Fun Night on Easter Eve...
There's just too much going on for me to sit still for a picture!

Daddy with my Uncle Steve

Me and Uncle Steve

Me and Grandma D

Sitting with cousin McKena on Aunt Elece's lap.

I let Cousin Gus borrow Mom for a picture.
I do want her back though....

Jumping

The Easter Bunny came early for Riley William
(AND for mom and dad too....)

Mom, is Dad qualified to do this?

I'm sure this is how they train the astronauts at NASA.

Plus, it's a GREAT chew toy.

All this jumping has worn me out.
Nap time!!

Before I Was a Mom

Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late
I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom,
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't worry whether or not my
plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been pooped on,
Spit up on,
Chewed on,
Peed on,
Or pinched by tiny fingers.

Before I was a Mom,
I had complete control of myself;
My thoughts,
My body,
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't
want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew something so small could affect my
life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my
heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a
Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of
the night every ten minutes to make
sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderfulment,
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so
much before I was a Mom.

Me and Daddy at the Driving Range

Stuck with mom while daddy hits the "big dog".

Our First Trip to the Easter Bunny

I had just woken up from a power nap and wasn't totally awake yet.
Apparently neither was mom because she couldn't even get the camera in focus.
Oh well, there's always next year.
